Will you marry me?

Will you marry me?

I received a call about a week ago, from Megan's aunt, asking me if I was available to document a proposal. She filled me in on all of the plans and all I could think about was how lucky I was to be asked to capture such an amazing moment in someone's life. I get to photograph so many wedding days, so it was so awesome to photograph what happens before the big day... the proposal.

Wes planned to send Megan on a scavenger hunt, ending with asking for Megan to stand beside him for the rest of their lives. The first note came while Megan was still in her last class of the day. The note came with a rose and a driver,  the note asked her to go get pampered at a salon and get her nails done. At the salon she received the second note. It instructed her that the chauffeur would take her to a hotel where she was to freshen up and get dressed and find more details there. At the hotel, there were a few dresses laid out and several choices of shoes and hair pieces, along with a super sweet video that featured her soon to be fiancé and her brother that wasn't going to be able to make this big event. But what was this event? She still did not know for sure.

After Wes popped the question, Megan's Mom and Aunt surprised her all the way from San Antonio, TX.

Here are the behind the scenes from this amazing day, along with a proposal that will be talked about to their future grandchildren, I'm sure.

Brittany + Brad

Brittany and Brad's big day took place at the gorgeous Maple Grove Inn in Knoxville, TN. It was a day that had a forecast of rain, but everyone had high hopes that it would be a dry, sunny day. As a Knoxville Wedding photographer 2013 had it's fair share of rain and I was hoping for a sunny 2014 wedding season. This day did not disappoint. However, right before the ceremony the weather radar indicated that severe storms were every surrounding us. Brittany had a bit of a freak out moment and we almost had the wedding under a tent, but luckily her amazing bridesmaids came to the rescue and reassured her that everything would turn out perfect... and it did!

Amanda Graves of Southern Bliss Weddings was truly amazing to work with. She kept everything together and is seriously the best planner I have ever worked with. Also, I am so sure that the video that Nathan Hinckley of Milestone Pictures shot at Brittany and Brad's wedding will be something to look out for! Mulberries absolutely rocked the flowers with some of the most gorgeous bouquets I have seen in a while. And the cake, it was so good and beautiful (made by the lovely and talented, Cake Girls). The strings for the ceremony were from Special Notes, who are always a dream to work with.

A HUGE thank you to the super talented, Joscelyn Haward, for second shooting with me. A lot of these gorgeous images are hers!
